Set on Three Mills Island, The House Mill – a Grade I-listed flour mill of international importance and perched on the edge of the Olympic Park - has been given the green light by the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) for a £2.65million* grant. A development grant of £248,000 has been awarded to help the River Lea Tidal Mill Trust progress their plans, which include restoring the mill, its neighbour Miller's House, and creating a self-sustaining and vibrant visitor centre around the history of this industrial gem in the heart of the Thames Gateway.
There are guided tours of the House Mill every Sunday afternoon from May to October and from 11- 4 on the first Sundays from March - December. The Miller’s House Cafe is open serving light refreshments during Mill opening hours and Monday to Friday from 10am until 3pm.
