The revitalisation of Three Mills Green is due for completion in Spring 2011. It will include over 1800 trees and shrubs, wildflower grasslands, a high quality events area, a sculpted viewing terrace and ping pong tables. Visitors will also have the chance to play petenque, a form of boules, at the Tree Mills Island site.
Lee Valley chairman Derrick Ashley, said: “Three Mills Green is an invaluable part of Lee Valley Regional Park. We are tremendously excited by the impending changes that the £635,000 funding project allows, transforming Three Mills Island into a significant leisure amenity for existing and future communities throughout the local area's of Bromley-by-Bow, Stratford High Street and West Ham and beyond.”
